Monica Angohiatok

Monica is originally from Kugluktuk, but moved to Cambridge Bay four years ago. Since she started walking, she can remember following and watching her parents harvesting and trapping; her father is still an active hunter. By watching her parents, she developed a passion for going out on land, especially in the outpost area. She works in the wildlife field because that’s what she grew up doing – being on the land. She likes to listen to people as a way of learning. She’s always teaching her family that there is no right or wrong way of doing things, and that we’re learning new things every day.
